Research and Development Cell

The MITS School of Biotechnology plays a crucial role in nurturing a robust research culture across various fields, including biotechnology and computer science. It supports faculty and student research projects, facilitates funded initiatives, upholds ethical research standards, and promotes collaborations with national and international institutions. Through training, guidance, and resources, the centre encourages innovation, scholarly achievements, and practical applications.

 Research Monitoring Committee (RMC)

The Research Monitoring Committee (RMC) of MSB, reconstituted in accordance with prior circular LCE/R&D/CIR-1/2018-19, is dedicated to promoting and supervising the institution’s research and development initiatives. Governed by MSB’s vision of fostering innovation, academic excellence, and industry collaboration, the RMC plays a pivotal role in shaping research culture at the college.

 Responsibilities of the Research Monitoring Committee

1. Strategic Planning & SOP Formulation
   • Define short- and long-term goals for R&D.
   • Draft and submit a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for institutional research activities.
2. Monitoring Research Outputs
   • Ensure steady growth in faculty and student publications.
   • Track performance against NAAC/UGC/Scopus benchmarks.
3. Promotion of Student Research
   • Encourage participation in internships, research projects, and MOOC programs.
   • Supervise UG/PG dissertation/project work.
4. Information Dissemination
   • Circulate updates on conferences, journals, funding calls, and workshops.
   • Publish newsletters, brochures, and web alerts.
5. Faculty Development & Mentorship
   • Facilitate participation in FDPs, national/international conferences, and skill development workshops.
   • Organize research orientation sessions with industry and academic experts.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Feedback
   • Collect and act on inputs from departments, alumni, recruiters, and the Training & Placement Cell.
   • Submit feedback reports to the Head of Institution every semester.
7. Culture Building
   • Foster a healthy, competitive research environment.
   • Recognize and reward quality research initiatives.
